Les Portes du Soleil is a vast skiing domain
with over 650 km of marked pistes, covered by 228
lifts and encompassing 13 main ski resorts in both
France and Switzerland.
There are over 500 snow cannons to
give mother nature a helping hand should she need it. Whether
you are a complete beginner taking your first tentative steps
to the wonderful world of skiing or an established black-run
or off-piste skier, Les Portes du Soleil will keep
you entertained and challenged, no matter how long you stay.
Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz all offer extensive
green and blue runs for the beginner with ski schools,
bookable in advance, in all three resorts. The purpose built
town of Avoriaz, with skiing from 1850m up to 2600m,
also offers early and late season skiing.
For the more adventurous
there are numerous red and black runs and extensive
off-piste skiing. For the wild and slightly lunatic there
is always the Wall....!

Montriond
The village of Montriond is situated
less than 1 km from the centre of Morzine, a brisk 10 min
walk along the road to the Baud pedestrian bridge or a more
leisurely 20 mins walk along the banks of the river Dranse.
Montriond offers a more sedate evenings entertainment
than that on offer in Morzine and the bars and restaurants
in the village come highly recommended.

Morzine
The picturesque town of Morzine
is a traditional Savoyarde town lying at the heart of the
Portes du Soleil ski domain and at the head of the Dranse
valley. Morzine offers an abundance of shops, restaurants,
bars and nightclubs to cater for all your needs both day
and night. Morzine manages to balance the traditional old
world charm and atmosphere of a Savoyarde town with all that
you would expect from a modern lively ski resort.
At a little over 60 mins from Geneva Airport,
Morzine is clearly one of the most accessible resorts in the
whole of the Alps.
The night life in Morzine is wide and varied.
Enjoy a relaxing drink to soothe your tired legs whilst discussing
the rigours of the day or keep the legs moving with loud music
and dancing, the choice is yours. A little later why not sample
one of the numerous, excellent restaurants that Morzine
has to offer, from Pizza restaurants to Haute Gastronomique.
We are more than happy to make recommendations and bookings.
If you still have energy to burn why not try
out the Ice Rink at the sports centre. The sports centre
is also the home of the Morzine-Avoriaz National League Ice
Hockey team so why not pop along and support them. Tickets
are available on the door or bookable in advance.
